"Columbus Daily Sun" May 12,1868 - In volunteer fire company com- petition, winning team awarded silver pitcher and goblets donated by "that public spirited and generous citizen, W.C. Gray. During the war he had been elected Captain of the firemen who made a military tour through the country." "Columbus Daily Enquirer" Nov. 22,1871 - Columbus voters list: Wm. C.
